Great news! NBC17 is our first official sponsor!

I am so pleased to share that we have secured our first official sponsor–WNCN, which is the local NBC affiliate for the Raleigh/Durham region. This is great news! The station has a new website called MyNC.com, where we will be able to link to our blog, show videos of the acts of kindness I perform, and recruit Kindness Bandits to do their own random acts of kindness.

I am also meeting with Clear Channel Raleigh next week, home to the four main radio stations in our market–with over 50 percent market share. One of their properties is 93.9 KISS FM, which would be a perfect fit for our KISS Revolution.

Speaking of that, we have dropped the “One Million Kisses” in favor of the “KISS Revolution” because we expect to reach way more than one million people in our first year. Our team is making great progress on the social networking community site that will host all our activities. It will be like a MySpace or Facebook for really nice people who are committed to changing the world one act at a time.

I’ll tell you, my team members are so sharp! I have surrounded myself with people who are far smarter than I am and it’s really paying off. Stephen Peacock, our Chief Development Officer is a renaissance man whose talents seem to know no bounds. Michelle Price and Lisa Miles Brady continue to impress me with their social media and web skills. Kayte Neal is doing a bang up job of raising funds from local businesses.  Meagan Spangler, my marketing specialist and executive assistant, won’t be officially joining us until October, but she attends team meetings and has a lot to offer. I’m also working with a PR firm, two media coaches, one image consultant, and one publicity consultant.  I’m determined to be ready to roll on Nov. 13.

I’ll keep you all posted and let you know when we have a beta site ready for people to sign up as Kindness Bandits. We still are open to suggestions about whether we should change the term to “Kissing Bandits,” which some people seem to like better. Let me know your thoughts! Have a fabulous day!

  1. CJ thanks for the kind words. Things are certainly moving in the right direction. Here’s a quick message I recently sent to my little corner of the Twitter Universe, “Envision a world where kindness in the norm rather than the exception. The KISS Revolution is coming! Prepare to pass it on.”

With your leadership we will pass it on…across the nation and further. Thanks so much for letting be a part of such an affirmative uprising.
